Dimos Avdeliodis returns to our city to introduce us, through dramaturgy and staging, to the contrasts between two works by Alexandros Papadiamantis. ‘The Seal’s Lament’ is a tragedyexperienced by humans and a seal alike. ‘The Kiln’ comes to lighten the emotions of the previous work, offering a message of optimism and joy through love and the freedom of our choices.

Both works are performed with singular artistry by Alexia Fotiadou, supporting Dimos Avdeliodis in his effort to bring to life the language of Papadiamantis – an irreplaceable bearer of meaning, unique in world literature. This language is transformed into a performance that speaks to audiences of all ages and educational backgrounds.
