“Heracles and the Stymphalian Birds”
at the Environment Museum of Stymphalia
On the occasion of World Theatre Day, the Piraeus Bank Group Cultural Foundation (PIOP), in collaboration with Fondation Kaloy, is organising, on Wednesday, 27 March (10:30), a musical theatre performance for children aged 3–8, titled “Heracles and the Stymphalian Birds,” at the Environment Museum of Stymphalia.
The talented musician Fani Gevetzi, using instruments from the Orff system (percussion, metallophones, xylophones, improvised instruments, and body percussion), songs (compositions created specifically for this performance), narration, dialogue, short poems, improvisation, and movement, encourages the children themselves to present this particular story through their own perspective, placing emphasis on the concepts of cooperation and teamwork.
The performance will be accompanied by songs and sounds created during the event by the young protagonists themselves, drawing inspiration from the flora and fauna of the lakes and wetlands, thereby crafting a unique soundscape.
Participants will have the opportunity to discover the well-known myth associated with Lake Stymphalia in a creative and entertaining way, while also coming to appreciate the beauty of nature through the boundless possibilities of music.
Workshop duration: 30 minutes
Participation is free of charge. Registration is required.
