The Foundation’s flute teacher, Ifigeneia Spiliotopoulou, launches a new and innovative Music Foundation class centred on the flute and recorder, drawing on the pedagogical principles of the Montessori system.

Children of younger ages – up to 5 or 6 years old – can be introduced to music through musical games adapted to their needs, and can explore sound creatively through blowing into a flute or recorder and, if they wish, in combination with singing.

Grounded in deep trust in the child and boundless respect for their abilities, the aim of the class is the joint development of the child’s musical skills – both hidden and apparent – as well as their balanced and creative integration into the class group, the family, and society.
