Our music ensembles are open and free of charge to students of all levels. Sessions take place once a week, last 80 minutes, and are held in the Conservatoire’s fully equipped rooms under the guidance of department tutor Grigoris Siotis.
Entry to the ensembles is not by audition. Instead, students are placed according to their level and musical preferences- whether pop, rock, jazz, funk or Greek repertoire- so that each ensemble is made up of musicians at a similar stage and with shared interests.
The aim of the ensembles is to offer students a gradual introduction to a professional performance environment, developing both their technical command and their capacity for improvisation. Students learn to perform alongside other musicians, drawing on the richness of contemporary music’s many forms and expressions, and discovering their own musical voice- whether rhythmically, melodically or texturally. They learn to stand out as individuals whilst contributing their personal talents to the collective, and to play an active role in shaping the music they make together.
We look forward to welcoming you.
