The Artistic Director of Fondation Kaloy, Mr Panagiotis Theodosiou, will travel to the Chinese capital from 21 to 27 May as a representative of Greece and of the Greek section of the International Society for Contemporary Music (ISCM), to participate in the World Music Days held this year as part of the Beijing Contemporary Music Festival.

The occasion is the selection of his work ‘Between Times’ for clarinet, viola, and piano by the ISCM – a piece which will be performed by the Trio Clavino (Doris Hall-Gulati, Simon Maurer, Xun Pan) in its world premiere by the Ionian Festival Ensemble at the Concert Hall of the Ionian Academy in Corfu.

The ISCM World Music Days is an institution that has been organised by the International Society for Contemporary Music for 95 consecutive years. It is the foremost annual event worldwide dedicated to contemporary music creation, and has seen the participation of the most significant composers of the twentieth century. This year, 61 countries are represented, each by a single composer.

Alongside this, Mr Theodosiou and composer Konstantinos Lignos will present and support at the ISCM official sessions the proposal of the Union of Greek Composers to host the World Music Days in Greece in 2021 – marking the 200th anniversary of the Greek Revolution and coinciding with the designation of Eleusis as European Capital of Culture.

We wish them every success!
